Perspective must remain bound to admitted facts, source, cut, scope, and declared loss.
Rule
An Atlas is the independently addressable perspective coordinate used to judge action. It binds at least:
- the perspective holder and declared vantage or decision purpose;
- typed fact-source bindings and their authority;
- the exact Fact cut used for judgment;
- scope, relevance, and projection boundaries;
- freshness conditions, known omissions, unresolved conflict, unknowns, and declared loss.
An Atlas is not complete reality, generic context, a retrieval result, a database snapshot, or a world model by definition. Those may implement or contribute to an Atlas only when the decision-relevant source and boundary remain inspectable.
Independence
Atlas answers:
From where, from which admitted facts, and at which cut is this action judged?
It does not supply continuing direction or authority. One Pursuit may be judged through several Atlases; one Atlas may support several Pursuits; a Warrant may require an exact Atlas root without becoming that Atlas.
Refreshing, transforming, degrading, comparing, or superseding an Atlas must preserve prior roots and declare the transformation and its loss. A current reference may move; an earlier perspective must not be silently rewritten.
Gate
A conforming claim:
- gives the Atlas a stable identity and immutable version or Fact-cut binding;
- keeps source authority distinct from relevance or retrieval rank;
- makes stale, degraded, conflicted, omitted, or transformed state visible;
- preserves perspective lineage across replay and comparison;
- rejects inference of Pursuit, Warrant, completeness, or current validity from visible payload alone;
- allows a Domain Profile to choose storage, fields, lifecycle vocabulary, and presentation without changing the coordinate’s responsibility.
Status boundary
KFD-8 is a numbered draft promoted from the Atlas action perspective candidate. The candidate remains public source lineage. This decision allocates the number and canonical term, but it does not claim universal empirical qualification or active status.
Relationship
KFD-7 establishes the Action Responsibility Geometry. KFD-8 specifies its perspective coordinate. KFD-4 supplies the underlying rule that views remain bound to declared perspectives; KFD-1 through KFD-3 supply the fact, trust, and cooperation foundation required to transfer or replay an Atlas.
Non-claims
KFD-8 does not require one serialization, store, API, screen, retrieval system, or product name. It does not establish a God’s-eye state or require every low-consequence action to expose an explicit Atlas object.
